I am receiving attachments through my emails and they will not download also I try and download movies or music and still the downloads will not work. It was all fine up until about 2 weeks ago. Do not recall anything happening that would have resulted in this. Your help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Go to preferences, then go to general. At the bottom, it should say "Save files to downloads." If it doesn't, then click on "choose" and select downloads.

I worked on this for some time trying various ways to correct the problem - and using various solutions found on the internet - but to no avail. I then finally went to the the Add-ons Manager once again and put a 'never activate' on the 'Open H264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc.' that I had activated on the 22/3/15 - this immediately fixed the problem and I was able to download files again. Thanks to 'UnicornPoopinc' for your response and to anyone else who was giving this thought but it is now solved and perhaps this will help someone else if they happen to have the same problem.
