Had Ff 9 and worked fine. 1.5 weeks ago tried to download update to 10.0.2, but it would not even BEGIN to download -- no "run" window comes up, not on desktop, not in programs list. Have retried for days!

I use Windows 7 on a 2 year old Dell computer (runs 32 & 64 bit). So, from things I've read, I thought it might help to uninstall my old version (I think it was 9), then try again. I did so, and STILL nothing will download. I've tried this at different times of the day, and on at least 5 days, but nothing works. Just like before, not even a hint that anything is downloading (and it has Never said anything about firewall trouble). I've tried with and without firewall, etc. being turned off. What can I do? Is there a live person anywhere that can help walk me through this via phone? (ha ha!) Really, I would like phone or at least chat help. ---- I am fairly savvy about using computers and software, but this has me stumped. Please help! --- If I can't get 10.0.2 to download and work, can I download an older version (like 9)? ---- under "This Happened" below, no answer fits, because it ALWAYS happens the same. No download. Bob

Please note that choosing Run or Open in the dialog box may not work for every file type in every circumstance. Please also check if the file was downloaded previously into the Downloads folder and right-click and Run as administrator.

You can also try right-clicking on the link corresponding to the language version here and Save Target As. You can try to save to a custom location and if it downloads successfully, right-click on the file and Run as administrator.

Hi,

You can try to download the latest full installer and upgrade. Please make sure to right-click the file and Run as administrator to begin the upgrade installation.

You may also want to backup personal data/folder. Firefox stores the personal profile/data separate from its internal files. Firefox Profile Folder & Files

Thanks for your suggestions, but I have been doing exactly what you said before asking the question. Tried more, and still no change. See attached. Suggestions?? Here is the text that is on the photo, just in case you can't read it. -------- When I click download on the top screen, it takes me to the bottom screen. However, nothing on my desktop or anywhere else indicates that anything downloaded. After a few minutes, I suspect I am supposed to see #1 as shown on the lower photo, but it never appears, and no icon comes on screen. Also, nothing in my programs list shows Firefox or Mozilla. I have previously registered as a Firefox user and do get emails, so I don‘t think I need to do anything with the signup shown at the bottom. Althouth, I‘ve tried that, too, but it made no difference.

   What am I missing?   I followed instructions from Help Forum (same as above), but it all loops back to this same result.

Just for the future Bob_P, using the auto update mechanism inside Firefox works perfectly fine as well, so then you can help avoid problems like this ;)

I tried that link, and got a page saying "Whoops! What are you doing here?" In other words, file not found. Try this page instead, and choose the operating system and language that you need.
