Even started in safe-mode Thunderbird 128.6.0esr (64-bit) Linux Quick-Filter doesn't filter newsgroup NNTP messages when the searches is performed on the "Body" of the messages. Works for searches in the "Subject" field, but not whether also "Body" is selected. The search in the "Body" works for regular Emails, the issue seems related only for newsgroup NNTP account messages. Please could you help me? Should I submit a bug report?

Usually search does not work on 'Body' if there is no Body downloaded - in other words you have only downloaded headers which retrieve the rest of email from server when selected and they are only stored in a temp cache to faciliate viewing.

Suggest you try:

  • Enable the 'Menu Bar' if it's not enabled via 'Menu app icon' > 'View' > 'Toolbars' > select 'Menu Bar'
  • 'File' > 'Offiline' > 'download/synch now'
  • Select 'Newsgroup messages'
  • Click on 'Choose' and make sure relevant folders are selected
  • Click on 'OK'

Then try performing the search on 'Body'
