Sync not working since had to reinstall Windows

Sync is for syncing with another device or version of Firefox. see screenshot
For future reference, it good to run Firefox on multiple devices so that your data is not in just one place. If you don't have access to your old data... Game Over
I think Mozilla needs to rename Sync to maybe Device Sync, because users see Firefox Sync and do no further digging to get a better understanding.
