It says error of plugin-container.exe. No videos can start. BUT, youtube videos work fine. Reinstalling Firefox as well as Adope Flash Player don't help.

It says error of plugin-container.exe. No videos can start, except for youtube videos which play fine. Reinstalling Firefox as well as Adope Flash Player didn't help. On a video page it always gives me a window saying "Plugin is either working or not responding, do you want to continue or stop?" No matter what you choose, it keeps repeating this question forever, and videos still don't work, and Mozilla doesn't respond any more - PC needs to be restarted.

Youtube currently uses the HTML5 player.

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drivers

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

You can check for issues caused by plugins.

  • set plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the about:addons page ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Plugins)
  • plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode

It is possible that security software (anti-virus, firewall) is causing the problem. Try to disable security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Thanks for your assisstance. Tried all you advised, unfortunately the problem remains. Additional info - when restaring computer a window appears saying "The exception breakpoint error. Breakpoint reached. Error at location 07......"


P.S. Plugins in IE, Chrome, Opera work fine.
