bookmarks won't import from google to firefox

Galaxy S4 GT-I9505, android 4.4.2 I've just installed firefox on my galaxy S4 & followed the instructions (below) to import bookmarks from the default browser (samsung's own browser?)....the one that has the earth/globe icon in the apps dock on the home screen, but it hasn't worked. opened firefox > phone's menu key > settings > customize > Import from Android > selected bookmarks & history check boxes > import ......nothing. i've tried clearing RAM, rebooting, threatening the phone....still nothing! I found com.sec.android.app.sbrowsertry (defualt browser) in the phone's applications manager but all buttons are grayed out except Force Stop & I don't think that'll help with my issue. Any suggestions welcome
