After the automatic upgrade to firefox 9.0.1 on Linux (Ubuntu 11.10), the add-on manager does not show my installed extensions anymore. The extensions are installed, but when I do

Tools -> Add-ons

and then choose

Extensions

on the left panel, the page stays white. The same happens for 'Appearance'. When I choose 'Plugins', those seem to be shown correctly as before the update.

I closed firefox and restarted, but I got the same behavior. Maybe someone else have seen the same behavior? Any ideas I can try?

Thanks

 Alex

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is a compatibility update available.

Does this still happen if you start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox?

Hi,

I now get the same empty space with a lint on top:

All add-ons have been disabled by safe mode.

Should all the installed extensions show up nevertheless? Or are all extensions shown which are active, which is none?

I am not sure the safe-mode test is useful.

One additional comment: When I click on "Get Add-ons" firsfox seem to be loading forever. Nothing shows up. This happens in normal mode as well as in safe mode.

Hi,

when I re-install firefox 8.0.1, everything is back to normal, i.e. I see all the extensions when klicking Tools -> Add-ons! This is definitively a bug in version 9.0.1 (and 10.0b3 ...).

Hi,

could someone put this issue in the BugReport system, or is it already noted? Otherwise I will do that...

Thanks

Hi,

thanks for your reply, but I have tried all of these already. If I start firefox in safe-mode (with version 9x or 10x), I do not see any (disabled) extensions. So the problem is definitively NOT related to any extensions! A bug has been introduced sometimes in version 9x. I will file a bug report...

Thanks

Are there any extensions showing in the extensions folder in the Firefox Profile Folder?

Do you see any extensions on the Help > Troubleshooting Information page?

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
