When I try to add a new tab, Firefox won't open a new tab. I have to select a new window. When I click on a link, it won't take me to Firefox. I have to open it.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
