I click on the Bookmarks button on the toolbar and then start typing in the search dialogue box. About three letters in Firefox freezes for up to two minutes. I can't switch tabs, add letters, activate any other button or tab. Finally it will unfreeze and list possible bookmarks. However, if I haven't completed the search term and start adding letters, Firefox will freeze again after 1,2, or 3 additional letters. It will continue to do this until I can finally enter the full search term, sometimes up to five or six minutes to find a bookmark.
