Yesterday had to reinstall Windows 10. Tech said that all the data would still be there. Not true...i don't think. I had to reinstall Thunderbird. I'm a blind guy and Thunderbird is a must for Email. I have seemed to have lost all of my contacts. I have searched under "profile" but only find data from yesterday. Is there someplace else Thunderbird would have stored the old profiles? Help!!!

We need more information. DId you have a backup you installed? Or did you install Thunderbird fresh? Was there a profile you restored?
Unfortunately, there was no back-up. Had to install Thunderbird as new. When re-installing Windows it wipes out the programs but not necessarily the data files as I'm discovering. Thanks
In that case, all is lost. Going forward, the current version allows easy creation of profile backups with the Tools>Export menu. I encourage using it periodically and saving to a USB stick.
