I cannot edit my gmail address as my hotmail address was hacked. When I go to instructions on how to change it by adding a secondary first, I do so and it says that address already exists.

i dont know if you were actually hacked because you seem to have issues with both emails. It could very well be corrupted cookies, whereas the email servers no longer recognizes your computer and ip address as the owner of the email accounts. But i am not expert in email services.
in regards to that email that says "it already exists", i would look for the option to retrieve/reset your password. Depending on the service, there is a link on the webpages for forgot user login and forgot password.
Please execute the steps above then let us know of the results.
btw: the gmail address you posted on your question is a secondary gmail account and there is another with an issue?
