Thunderbird will not get new emails
I use Thunderbird as a front end for one email account (Gmail). It was working until a couple days ago. Now I have several new emails in Gmail and Thunderbird will not get them. The Gmail account settings are correct, Thunderbird just does not seem to work. Possibly related to the 78.2.2 update?

If mail arrives in webmail but not TB, there may be a log jam:

What are your settings? Incoming and outgoing servers, ports, security, authentication, User Name format.
Incoming server imap.gmail.com port 993 outgoing server smtp.gmail.com port 465 security SSL/TLS authentication OAuth2
Do you have also other accounts set on TB or only that one with Gmail?

Hold on! It has suddenly started working again. Dunno why, I changed nothing.

it is relatively common occurrence when Thunderbird updates that software firewall associated with anti virus/internet security suites actually causes mail to not flow until the firewall gets an update. Sudden resumption of service is a hallmark of this sort of thing.
