Im on a Mac 01 10.12.6 Sierra. Want to update my Thunderbird Email, but update window says "Update server not found (check your internet connection)." I'm afraid if I simply download and install newest version rom Mozilla, it will erase all my existing emails and settings, etc. What can I do?

except emails and documents stored in local (your computer), your email are on a server (the mail server) then I guess you can update your version without being afraid. If update does not work from thunderbird, I would recommend to download a version from the mozilla website You can find the last version here
