I cannot get out of a folder
somehow I am in one of my folders and cannot get out of it. I cannot see or have access to any other folder or any of my email accounts.

How about when you use View on the Menu Bar like the instructions state?
If you insist on using the 3 line menu button you would hover over Options to find Layout.

Did you lose your folder Pane on the left side. From the Menu Bar select View-Layout-Folder Pane No Menu Bar? Press the alt key.

I do not have 'Layout' as an option in view.

Problem fixed. I found layout under Options not View.
