How can I save all Firefox settings in a text file to insure I reinstall or reset Firefox?
I need to Reset or Reinstall Firefox. The article on Reset Firefox says some settings will be restored or removed, but not exactly. I can save my profile and bookmarks, etc. But I would like to save ALL of my settings in a text file to be sure I can reinstall every setting/add-on/etc that I currently have. I just need a readable full list so I can check my before vs after Firefox configuration. Thank you.

Firefox extracts your old profile (with all its data) to the desktop folder, so you have nothing to worry about.
In that article it says
After the reset is finished, your old Firefox profile information will be placed on your desktop in a folder named "Old Firefox Data." If the reset didn't fix your problem you can restore some of the information not saved by copying files to the new profile that was created. See Copying files between profile folders for instructions. If you don't need this folder any longer, you should delete it as it contains sensitive information.

Thank you, but I had already read that. It would not give me a checklist of settings/add-ons/etc to verify after I Reinstall or Reset. I am looking for a complete report that would allow me to manually rebuild Firefox if needed. I will want to manually check all my Options, and I will want to manually install add my Add-ons. I do not want to reinstall a possibly corrupt configuration from old files. The only mass restore I plan is my Bookmarks. Thanks, John
What kind of problems do you have with the current profile folder that you want to reset Firefox?
I am having intermittent connection and speed problems with Firefox. Given that recently I had to remove some unwanted add-ons, one possibility is that the removal process was incomplete or incorrect. ( Some add-ons were spyware that I did not ever intend to install. ) I expect that the most reliable way to resolve the problems is to reinstall Firefox. So I am just looking to report all of my settings/add-ons/etc in a readable form such that I can rebuild Firefox from scratch. ( I would import/restore my bookmarks. ) If there is no way, I will have to "print-screen" everything. But I suspect I am not the first user needing to reinstall, so I thought there would be some reporting tool.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
