I have 20.0.1 and some old network equipment that does not support Java 7. It is probably not ever going to support Java 7 and would cost a lot to replace so I need to be able to access a single site with an older version of Java. I am trying to use Java 6 update 45 but Firefox always uses Java 7.

You can, we just block it with Click To Play in which if you'd like you can. See Why do I have to click to activate plugins? for more information.

The problem is Firefox never shows Java 6 installed... just Java 7 plugins and extensions. If I disable those, then verification on the Java website says "We are unable to verify if Java is currently installed and enabled in your browser."

I've installed Java 6 several times and nothing changes as far as extension or plugins in Firefox. If I go to the Java control panel, I can disable JRE 7 there and enable JRE 6 and that work for IE, but not Firefox or Chrome. So how do I get Firefox to use Java 6? Is there some setting I can point to the Java 6 install directory or some file association somewhere? Or is a plugin not getting installed as it should?

I run 64 bit Win 7.

If I uninstall Java7, I get the click to active plugin and Java 6 works fine, but I can not get Firefox to use Java 6 if I have Java 7 installed.
