changed to Firefox 5.0, now unable to get access to my bookmarks, many are missing

changed to Firefox 5.0 yesterday and now need to accesss some bookmarks, but have disapeared with the Google toolbar and don't know how to get access to them. some bookmarks are there under top bookmark heading, but many are missing. how can I get back to thse that are missing please. It did say I would lose the Google toolbar, but didn't realise most bookmarks would go as well.
