Hmm, I'm still running Windows 7, so I'm not sure where that would be.

However, I can say that Firefox is a traditional "desktop" application and not a "modern" application for Windows 8, 8,1, and 10. So this is the best I can offer:

To create a desktop shortcut to a website from Firefox:

• Make the Firefox window resizable (not maximized) so you can see a bit of the desktop
• Drag the "i-in-a-circle" icon from the left end of the address bar to the desktop and drop it there

Firefox should create (or I guess technically Windows should create) an icon to load the current page in your default browser.

Is that anywhere near what you're looking for?

Windows Apps. I am on Win 10 & Do not call anything a App, they are programs, also name the programs that you want to use as we have no idea what you plan to do with the info your requesting which would make answering your question easier. Also there is little reason to do what your asking.

1st thing I did was break everything in Windows 10 as is junk, sends data to MS, stoped all the tracking, installed all my own programs |personal opinion

Generic Apps, means nothing.

Simply drag and drop a URL from the Address bar or Copy/Paste the Address.
