After signing in (having entered my password etc) I would expect Firefox to automatically load up the News page but instead it insists on loading the Preference
I use Firefox Quantum. I think that the question above fully describes the problem. This is not a major issue but it is somewhat irksome. Before it became necessary for me to re-install Firefox after a computer crash it always worked as expected. Any help would be appreciated.

HI, no the question details are not enough.
What page where you using for the Homepage before ? Was it all the tiles or a dedicated website ?
If so please check Options --> Home and what is the URL in the Homepage box ? if it is about:preferences simply open a new tab and then go to your page you want and select Use Current Page or copy/paste the URL into the box.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Hi GJBennett, if the issue is not your home page setting (as mentioned in the first reply), could you provide a little more detail on this:
(1) What are you signing in to?
For example, are you signing into a website? Or are you entering a Master Password to unlock Firefox's password manager?
(2) What's the address of the unwanted page?
You usually can copy/paste that from the address bar, but if it has any personal information in it such as your email address, please remove that part when pasting into your reply (e.g., change it to example@example.com).
If it's an internal page, the address bar may be blank.

Sorry about the delay in replying. I have been in hospital and my computer time has been limited.
I'm not sure that I correctly understand the information that you require but let me answer as best as I can.
The three "pages that I wan Firefox to open are:-
(1) https://www.example 1.co.uk/home/example/beta
(2) https://www.example 2.com/example/custom.html?example
(3) https://www.example (bank).co.uk/uk/index
Accordingly, the entry in Options/Home reads:-
https://account.example 1.com/account/settings|https://www.example 2.com/example/custom.html?example|https://www.example (bank).co.uk/uk/index
These three sites do oprn correctly BUT..... a Preferences screen also loads up before the chosen three. I simply don't want this to happen!
Does this help??

What is it a preferences screen for -- Firefox, an add-ons, a website?
If you like, you can share the address of the page. If you can't copy/paste it from the address bar, you can find the address in the Page Info dialog. You can call it up using any of these:
- right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info
- (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info
You can "triple-click" the address to select it, then Ctrl+c to copy, then paste here.
Make sure that only the URLs of the pages you want to open are set as multiple home pages and that there isn't a leading '|' at the start of the list.
You can also check this pref on the about:config page.
- browser.startup.homepage
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
