I have a pop mail account set up to leave messages on the server for 14 days or till i delete. I would like to delete a single message from server without deleting it from my in box ? I have thought of setting up a filter to run on the message, but want a better way.

thanks in advance

Why not log into your account at the providers web mail site and delete it there?

sorry more than one email, but one at a time by selection.

I should have asked "I want to be able to select single email and delete it from the server, on multiple occasions as new mails come in, but leave others on the server".

There is a selection to leave on the server until I delete it. Other than that I guess you go to the server.

An idea.

Put all emails that you want to keep but remove off server into a folder called eg: 'Pop off server'

  • Create a filter called 'Pop off server'
  • Apply when 'Manually Run'
  • select 'Match all messages'

Perform these actions:

  • 'delete from pop server'
  • click on OK
  • then select the 'Pop off server' filter
  • Run selected filters on 'pop off server' on account
  • click 'Run now'

then you have done a small batch in one go.

Now move the emails from the 'Pop off server' folder into suitable folders for storage, so the 'Pop off server' folder is ready for next time use. Note: if you subsequently delete any emails from the 'Pop off server' folder, remember to compact the folder.

thanks to insight from your solution, I have just created a filter to that * select 'Match all messages' * 'delete from pop server' and i run all filters on selected messages. (all other filters should have run on incoming mail)

but that is a little cumbersome to run, is there a way of creating a button to run a filter?
