Keep getting Firefox "error" page that indicates if you are getting this page you should download latest version. I have downloaded and installed latest version several times, and I still get that message each time I load a new page? what's wrong here? ?never had that issue before

thank you

Thank you for sharing your Firefox configuration data. You do have the current version, so you should not see an message that you need to update.

When you see that, what is the address of that page? If you can't copy/paste from the address bar, try the Page Info dialog. Either:

You might also check the Permissions panel of the Page Info dialog.

  • right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info
  • (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info

You can triple-click the URL to the right of Address: to select it, then copy using Ctrl+c (or right-click > Copy), then paste it into a reply.

I noticed you have an extension named "Maps" which may be one of those add-ons which slips in with something else. Do you use that or want to use that? If it's not critical, try disabling it. You can view, disable, and often remove extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions that Firefox installs on its own are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or unnecessary? If in doubt, disable.

Sometimes a link will appear above a disabled extension to restart Firefox before the change takes effect. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Any improvement?

You can check the home page setting.
