There are hints and tips suggestions in little windows that won't let me type!!! How do I get rid of them
Every time (well most times) I put the cursor anywhere in Firefox, a little window appears (I dare not say pops up because it's apparently not a pop-up) with suggestions (copy past, check spelling, save, all the stuff....) and it slows my work down considerably. I click away and it comes back click away again... I don't want them! Nobody does!

That is not from Firefox. It may be from an add-on or another program. Did you get your Firefox from Mozilla.org ?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?
