Hmm... let me take a guess.
When you add a bookmark from a website, it typically opens in the sidebar instead of the main part of the tab. To check on that and turn it off, right-click the bookmark and choose Properties. Then look toward the bottom of the dialog for "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" and uncheck the box.
Does that fix it?
