Hi..and help!!

I've made a mess. I've had a look at a few articles and looked for profiles... but am getting nowhere.

I updated to Thunderbird 38.3.0 too late in the evening. I thought it would be easier to manage the security of my gmail account with IMAP so I then created a new user account for Gmail. IMAP access didn't work...Google wanted to add cookies! I foolishly deleted the POP3 account and can only find parts of it in the local folders. Also, there seems to be no recent backup of the profile. The last one is dated 201503. And no, I do not leave mail on Google's servers. I always download it. I've now switched off IMAP in Gmail.

Any and all advice is welcome! Questions can be answered!

Many thanks!

I would first in Tbird open help / troubleshooting information and click on the button "show folder" (your profile will open) Then Close Tbird !!!! in Mail make a safety-copy of your gmail pop-account

Use an add-on like ImportExportTools to import mails into your local folder from this safety copy.
