I've setup a firefox sync account on two PCs (desktop & laptop), but no data actually syncs.

I need some help with the aforementioned issue. Frankly, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, and I have not been able to locate any information on exactly how long I should give the computers to sync. Both computers are using FF v. 31. I'm able to login to FF sync on both computers. I immediately get a message that FF will sync momentarily when I first login, but there's no indication of progress, and no new bookmarks or addons, etc. appear. I cannot tell if the system is borked or it's something I've done. I've also tried going into the tools dropdown menu and manually selecting "sync now.. There's no indication of activity, success or failure of the process there either. Of course, it doesn't seem to work, because my bookmarks et al. don't appear on the other system. :(
