I can no longer print a page on Firefox, but I can when in Chrome. Why?

When I click on "file" in upper left, and drop down to "print", when I click "Print" I get a ding-dong sound. Nothing on Firefox will print. However, I CAN print while using Chrome. Also, while using Firefox for Facebook, I cannot upload or download pictures...but I can in Chrome. I suspect I have a "setting" in the wrong position. Please suggest a solution.
