Since the last TB ESR update to 128.8 I no longer can download emails properly. It does kick of email download when starting the app, but gets stuck when loading emails from a GMX account. It also does not delete emails from the server as configured to do, so next app start it downloads the same emails again.

Clicking the Get Messages button does nothing nor does clicking on any commands in the context menu of the Get Messages button. There is no status showing in the status bar at the bottom nor do I get an error. I tried it in troubleshooting mode with everything disabled and it still does not work.

I did clear startup cache, compacted mailboxes, and used web mail portals to lower the number of emails to download (I deleted all those emails I don't want anyway).

Used to work reliably well before update and also when scheduled. Troubleshooting Info is below.

As I have several eddresses I have several acounts in T'bird. However I don't care which acount an email arrives into. So I have a rule that transfers anything comming into all but one of the inboxes into one 'main' inbox. All the sub accounts are kept collapsed so I can see my main acount folders. Well and good. However when I want to trash an email I have to look which acount it came into, expand that acount, drag the email into that trash, and then collapse that acount. Selecting the rclick trash bin icon only works for emails into my main account. Is there any way I can simply trash an email from any acount - preferably into one bin?

When opening Thunderbird a pop up opens requiring me to enter my password for pop3. As far as I remember, I don't have or need this password. Cannot get rid of the popup. It keeps popping up.

I have a new e-mail address, so I'm updating all the entries in my about:logins list of passwords. There are a couple of moz-extension entries with very long codes as part of the name. When I click on these in the left-hand column, it appears in the main part of the window where I can edit or remove it. For regular website entries I can click on the link to take me to the site, but with the moz-extension entries I can't do that. Can these be deleted? Thanks!

Firefox crashes constantly when I load it mostly when in youtube though. Some quite strange questions, which I'm not sure to which category it belongs to, While I use last FF on my main machine, I have another machine that still use firefox 56.0.2 since I like some of the addons there that never been remade/updated to newer FF versions,

It worked fine for years but suddenly all of the addons are disabled no matter what I've tried to do, Using backup, reinstall, about:config and setting xpinstall.signatures.required to false, you name it,

I was wondering if Mozilla pulled the plug on something or if some fixed date for things to expired has arrvied, As well as if there's a way to fix it in the settings/other means?

Some people said that Dev or Nighty edition can actually turn the xpinstall signatures to false while normal FF might have the option but won't actually do it, The problem is that I have no cluse which of their versions is equal to good old 56.0.2, Can anyone tell me?

In the past week or so I have noticed that some emails disappear from one inbox on my Windows 10 PC. I have three Thunderbird accounts (call them A, B, and C), and the emails only disappear from box A. It seems completely random, and furthermore they only disappear on my own PC. My husband has an identical set-up on his Windows 10 PC, which also includes the boxes A, B, and C, and the messages do NOT disappear there. I can also see them on my iPhone and two iPads, and they do not disappear from those. I have tried forwarding them to myself from my phone, and while most of them did show up in the A inbox on my PC, I have noticed that some of them have now disappeared again.

This is incredibly frustrating, because I do most of my work at my PC. I thought I needed an update, but TB says I am up to date (128.8.0esr (32-bit)). It can't be anything to do with the server, because it is so specific: one inbox on one PC only. There doesn't seem to be any special pattern--some have attachments, some don't.

I also posted two updates under the original question (which had a title something like 'Random emails keep disappearing'), and the problem is still ongoing, making my life a bit difficult, as I am at the moment in contact with doctors, lawyers, and insurers, and I keep losing their emails on my main PC, which holds documents that I sometimes need to attach to replies.

I am very surprised no one has replied (apart from my own updates), as usually there is someone out there with good ideas.

I've closed an account on yahoo, but still have emails on my pc. How to avoid the credentials window very single time i open thunderbird, or any of the hundreds or maybe thousands emails? "Check for new messages at startup/every X minutes" are both off. Any clues?

If you change your Thunderbird setting on your PC from POP to Imap, how do you change setting on phone if you are not allowed to change them? Do you have to delete existing POP account and setup/add the new Imap version. ? Can you also force stop the POP account and try to change settings that way?
