please help me to get it back.

Hi, thank you for being there. I have a strange problem that started a while ago. Every time I restart the computer to refresh it, all my bookmarks and log-ins change. It seems as if they are set back to an old version, but I can't even remember ever having a setting like this. A lot of bookmarks folder are gone all together and others only have a few bookmarks left in them. I suddenly have to enter passwords to get into my email accounts. Even stranger, after a while it all goes back to my current setting without me changing anything. This can take days or weeks. All this makes me nervous about restarting my computer. Please understand that I am not a computer wiz, so if you send me complicated instructions on how to fix this, I probably won't understand them. I hope there is a simple explanation for this. I use the firefox browser on two computers and the sync of the bookmarks is enabled. On one of this computers dont work the sync of the bookmarks. I get no errormessage if I press "now sync", but I dont get the bookmarks. Could you help?

As of today 5/20/2024 Firefox stopped saving bookmarks. The star turns blue to indicate the bookmark was saved, but when I check the folder in Bookmarks it's not there.

Firefox is my GoTo browser. I appreciate that it is open source and respects privacy and security.

Right now I am struggling with release 126.0 on a Lenovo tablet running Android 13. My issue is the use and access to bookmarks. Unlike previous versions of Firefox there seems to be no way to get a bookmarks toolbar. That was a helpful feature in previous versions. And favorites are not as clean. My hope is that Mozilla will return to a bookmark toolbar.

I am travelling. I used a public wi-fi and norton VPN most recently. All my bookmarks are missing, altho they did appear on the toolbar briefly in the background. So where do I find them to restore them to the toolbar?

i like firefox on my cell phone as well as on my pc, but i encounter a problem on my tablet. The screen is big enough that I could display my bookmarks bar permanently (as well as tabs). if I want to look up several things quickly, which would certainly be possible with my tablet with keyboard and mouse, I can't even do that because I can't open the bookmarks that quickly.

however, i can understand that this is not permanently implemented, but i would like to have a customization option via on/off in the settings and while we are on the subject, an option to switch tabs on/off like on the desktop like the page marker permanently on desktop mode would be really nice.

of course it could be that these options already exist, then it would be that i am too stupid to find them because i really couldn't imagine that they don't exist and have already rummaged through all the options.

Recently, when I type in the URL bar, there is only 1 suggestion from my bookmarks. Before, there were several bookmarks that show.

I want the previous behavior back so that I only need to type a few characters and then choose one of the suggested bookmarks in the list of results. Now, I need to keep typing a lot more characters/words before the 1 bookmark I want shows up. Sometimes I can’t recall enough of the full URL so the bookmark I want never shows up.

This is a big downgrade in the user experience. Is there a setting to go back to the previous behavior?

I have to install firefox new everyday on a library computer, (short answer mine was stolen and I can't replace it for now).

Anyway used to have no problem I would go in install firefox sign in and my bookmarks were repopulated. Today I installed firefox and nothing. No bookmarks, no add ons nothing its like a blank install with new profile.

I do not have a backup saved profile on this computer as it is a virtual machine and each day when it shuts down it wipes the programs and data installed. Because firefox repopulated the bookmarks each day when I re-installed it I was not aware I needed to create my own backup I assumed that it was just something in firefox that worked well and another reason why I prefere to use it.

Until today it was not an issue once I signed in everything would re appear but today its all gone. Is there anyway to recover this as it is very important that I do. I use these bookmarks a lot.
