Hi! My Firefox close itself 3 times a day. I´ve restarted it, but it doesnt help at all. How can I fix it?

I have no idea why, but Firefox started to close itself about 2-3 times a day. It works about 5 hours and after closes itself. When I open it again it is saying: "Its embarrassing..." and asks me if I want to open all the tabs I had. It is very annoying. I tried to reset Firefox, but it did not help.

It appears that Firefox is crashing and we're sorry to hear that.. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.

Hi! There is no one which starts with bp-. I copied the most re ent 5 I have there.

None of those crash report seem to be recent. The reason they are not starting with bp- is because that they have not been submitted. You have to click each report individually to submit the report in order for us to be able to pull up the report. I'm going to suggest a clean reinstall though.


Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.

  1. Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
  2. After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
  3. Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    • Windows:
      • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    • Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    • Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
  4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    1. Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    2. Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

WARNING: Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. Hi! Thank you! Yet I did not tried the solution you gave me. Yesterday I installed Chrome and now they (Chrome with Firefox) close at the same time 3 times a day... Should I still try the solution of Clean reinstall?
