I'm asking this for a friend...she can access her main Facebook account but she has a second account with a fake name. She tries to logon and it brings her to a blank white page with https://www.facebook.com/login.php?login_attempt=1 in the address bar. I know FB can disable accounts if they detect you're using a fake name, but I also read that if it is disabled, no one will be able to see your profile. But I and others can still see her profile and we even sent a message. Obviously she can't see it, but it did send. Any ideas?? She's been using this account every day and all of the sudden she can't get in.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

NOTE: If your Facebook account has been disabled, there will not be a blank screen, so this is most likely not what happened.

Problem fixed! I don't understand it, but she gave a mutual trusted friend her login info and then she logged on. It asked a security question and then let her on. So then she logged off and my friend tried again and it let her log on this time. She logged off and on a couple times to be sure it was working.
