I'm running xp pro sp2 : I recently upgraded to firefox 5 and would like to keep it. everything works great. My problem is that I use the xfinity tv guide online. I can use another guide ,but I like this one. all the set ups on the page ; ie zip code ,channel line up work fine. there is a drop down to change the d.s.t. + or - an hour it lets me select it but nothing changes. It's not on their end, and it works in explorer but its horribly slow and glitchy. I know this may sound petty at best, but I like what I like.... so any ideas ? thank you, ..... shredd

Firefox 5 is no longer supported. Firefox 20 is the latest version - you need to update ASAP. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/#desktop

Try that + and - setting with a new version of Firefox - the ~ 2 year old Firefox 5 version may not be compatible with that feature of the Xfinity website any longer.

As far as DST settings - does your WinXP installation have the DST patch which was released a few years ago? And is the time set correctly in Windows?

Updates to Windows XP SP2 ended after July 2010. There have been a number of Windows DST updates since then. Some of the updates are for specific locales.

You need to keep up-to-date on Windows for your own online security. Updates to Windows XP will end altogether (including XP SP3) after April 2014.

hi old fox, thanks for the heads up, good to know. this reply is also for edmister. after talking with a friend who is a network specialist and all of your help, I deceided to hunt down the dst update and load it manually. I'm happy to say it did the trick ! I didn't think that was the problem considering it worked in I.E. but I was wrong..... if anyone else has a similar issue, even if you think your op system is up to date. you may want to load it manually, in xp sp2 look for : windows xp-kb931836-x86-enu.exe again guys I really appreciate your time, sincerly shredd. p.s I still get to keep my old fox 5 ..... : )

There have been over 130 updates to Windows XP SP3 since July 2010. You are missing all of the current XP security updates by keeping XP SP2 and making yourself more vulnerable online.
