Ok all the sudden earlier this evening I started having trouble staying signed in to websites, for example I would log in to facebook and view my newsfeed and profile just fine but then when I tried to go somewhere else such as another persons profile it would tell me to sign in to facebook and no matter how many times I successfully login when I try to go somewhere else on facebook I acts like I not logged in, when I try to sign in to my gmail account I get an error about cookies not being enabled, but ALL cookies are accepted, I mean my cookies settings are as wide open as it gets in windows. I have this problem on just about ANY website that I visit that requires any sort of login or really anything significant in the way of cookies storage. I have this problem with ALL my web browsers: IE9, Firefox, And Chrome. Everything worked fine earlier in the day, I made no changes to the system or to my browser settings, I installed no new software recently.

AND I have tried flushing my DNS cache and deleting a ton of cookies from some long lost sites I rarely or never go to anymore to maybe make room or something but to no avail

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

I thought about that after I made the post here, so I went and deleted those files and removed ALL cookies, rebooted even just for good measure and still have the same problem, could this be some sort of virus/spyware?

do you have a security software/firewall/traffic filter that offers some sort of privacy or sandboxing feature that might disable cookies?

All I have is the free version of Avast Anti- Virus which I have had for over a year now on this machine, and actually Ive had the shields disabled since before the problem started.

does it change anything when you set firefox to directly connect to the internet (in firefox > options > advanced > network - connections... select no proxy)?!

its already set to not use a proxy, but even if it wasn't none of those settings have been changed in several months if ever.

hello, it is strange - something system-wide must cause this behaviour. when googling it, i only found this thread about it, but it has a very IE-centered solution, so i'm not really sure if it might also apply to your situation.

you could also run a scan with hijackthis and see if something suspicious is coming up - there are a few websites like http://app.spyandseek.com/index.php4 that can auto-analyze the log file. you can also try to do a full scan of your system with the free version of malwarebytes.

Ok I found something new, 2 somethings actually, 1 good and 1 bad, the bad news is that its not just my computer, its every computer in the house that connects to the network. The good news is I took my laptop to class with my, Im working on my Degree at the local technical college and so I wanted to test a theory, when I connect to the wifi there I can browse around to many sites that I had trouble with at home, Ex: Ebay, google, microsoft sites etc... no problem at all it remembers my information on every site and no messages about cookies. So now I have no idea what it is, its obviously not any sort of virus or spyware or corrupt file on my computer but what the heck is it? I have the firewall turned off on the wireless router at home, no filtering of any sort set. Id call Netgear for support but since i have DDwrt on the router those guys are about as useful as jpegs are to Helen Keller.
