I'm running Ubuntu 10.04, firefox 9.0.1. Since upgrading to Firefox 9 I have not been able to view video that is streamed from NPS.gov It worked on previous version of firefox, but not now.
I've tried deleting cache, cookies, history. I also disabled all Firefoxplug-ins temporarily to see if they were affecting viewing. I re-installed Adobe Flashplayer. Nothing seems to work.

The link http://www.nps.gov/features/yell/live/live4.htm is not loading video in other web browsers too. Contact the website about this problem since the problem seems to be on their end.
The player works for me in Firefox 3.6.26 on Linux, but not in current Firefox releases and in Google Chrome.
Weird. It works in Firefox 10 if I run the object code in a new tab. This also works in Google Chrome.
data:text/html;charset=utf-8,<object data="http://media-player.cdn.level3.net/flash/v1_1_1/Level3MediaPlayer.swf" id="L3MP" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="382" width="640"><param value="transparent" name="wmode"><param value="true" name="allowfullscreen"><param value="HaloColor=0x0086db&ToolTips=true&AutoPlay=true&VolumeLevel=50&CaptionURL=Old Faithful Geyser Live!&Title=Eyes on Yellowstone Made possible by Canon USA through a generous grant to the Yellowstone Park Foundation&Logo=&SRC=rtmp://npsaflivefs.fplive.net/npsaflive-live//stream50&BufferTime=5&AutoHideControls=false&IsLive=true" name="flashvars"></object>
cor-el, I copied and pasted the above object code in my browser and it worked.
what do I have to do in order to fix Firefox so when I click on the NPS link it downloads and plays the video without having to copy and paste this code each time?

I have no idea why the code that the script generates works if it is run directly, but not when generated via the swfobject.js script.
swfobject.embedSWF("http://media-player.cdn.level3.net/flash/v1_1_1/Level3MediaPlayer.swf", "altContent", "640", "382", "10.1.0", "http://media-player.cdn.level3.net/flash/v1_1_1/expressInstall.swf", flashvars, params, attributes);
So you can still try to contact the site and ask them to look into that as it affects other browsers like Google Chrome as well.
It is not a video, but an RTMP stream that is played by the Level3MediaPlayer.

You can bookmark the data URI to open that player directly until it starts working again via the www.nps.gov website.
