what is the counter clockwise spinning grey circle that turns green and spins clockwise mean?
My computer takes a long time to turn on, access the internet and change websites. This did not occur until after the email I received saying someone had signed on to my Facebook account from a computer in San Diego, CA. I keep my computer cleaned up, have high speed internet service and limit my exposure on the internet.
This happened before and the service technician said the gray circle means someone has hacked into my system and the reason the computer takes so long to connect is because the information is going to the remote computer first. Is this true? If so, how do I repair this on my own?

The counter clockwise spinning grey circle means that Firefox is in the connection state and is trying to connect to the server. If a connection has been made then the rotation changes to a clockwise spin and Firefox start to load content from the server.
You can check the connection settings.
