Resizing an oversized Window on a Mac now that resizing with JavaScript is essentially prohibited:

Full Screen mode is toggled on or off with "command+Shift+F" (Windows "F11")

How to resize a window on your Mac’s screen that’s too big to drag | MacYourself

Change zoom level for TEXT and IMAGE size: -- (Zoom text of web pages)

To return fonts and images to normal size use command+0 (zero)

To change the text size of web pages

  • Firefox 3 and above: View -> Zoom -> Zoom In / Zoom Out / Reset / Zoom Text Only
    • command+0 (hold the command key and press zero) resets zoom to normal size (Zoom RESET).
    • command++ (hold the command key and press the plus key) makes the text larger (Zoom IN).
    • command+- (hold the command key and press the minus key) makes the text smaller. (Zoom OUT)
    • command+scroll with mouse wheel

These changes will only change text sizes temporarily or on a per site basis, but not globally.

Preferences -> Content -> Fonts & Colors gives you options that may or may not stick subject to your control over defaults and over website choices.

Note that some web pages may display incorrectly if you increase or decrease the text size.

When Text and Images are zoomed together by default, some column widths or other containers may be dependent upon image size, so enlarging both may cause page to enlarge horizontally forcing use of horizontal scrolling to see text that would normally wrap within a smaller area.

Some causes leading to problems of oversized Windows:

  • Extensions such as "Babylon Toolbar" 1.1.8, and "vshare" 1.21
  • Zooming and then moving the window.
  • Switching display between monitors
  • Dragging window between monitors

That's about all I suggest, I don't use a Mac but am in the process of finding out more. Someone else on a Mac can probably improve and correct this. Firefox 8 comes out today (essentially means available tomorrow); and, off course, the same nonsense on JavaScript prohibitions as introduced in Firefox 7.0.1

Were you just looking to toggle Full Screen mode off with "command+Shift+F"

or is the Window larger than the screen size.

Mac evidently has some problems with resizing of Windows, since I don't know anything about Macs, I'm not sure if this applies to the Mac operating system. I think it does, here is an article:
