firefox wont install on XP Professional x64 No errors nothing listed in event viewer

Trying to install firefox on Windows XP Professional x64 , after extracting nothing else happens i have tried this with the folowing..

Firefox Setup 7.0.1 Firefox-4.0b12pre.en-US.win64-x86_64.installer.plugintest Firefox-3.6.3.en-US.win64-x86_64.installer

all with the same outcome.

There is nothing listed in event viewer, not sure what else to do.

thank you for the reply, but it helped in no way whatsoever. after extracting nothing happens..
