Firefox freezes (requires force quit in mac) intermittently while playing video files

Firefox users report, and we have confirmed that the browser will intermittently freeze while playing videos on this page. These are .m4v videos playing in a modal window (lightview). Lightview developer does not think it has anything to do with his code. Support indicated that mod_deflate on the web server might be the culprit so we setup the page on a test server but got the same freeze behavior: http://dew.smith.edu/bigbad/religion/event-mmsymp.php#videos My testing was with firexfox mac 3.6.7 I have not been able to get other browsers to freeze (so far) which is why I am looking at firefox specifically.

Just upgraded to 3.6.8 and problem continues. Firefox freezes while watching videos. May happen right away or after opening a closing a few videos but will eventually happen every time. Under OS X, a force quit is required. Firefox will not log this in about:crashes but OS X does and then reports it to apple. Here part of that report:
