When I choose New Window, these are not visible (maybe painted off-screen?) but I can see them under "Window" Menu bar.

I have the latest release (3.6.3) of Firefox for Mac. When I select File >> New Window nothing seems to happen. However, I can verify that the windows are being created by looking under the Window menu bar. They may be painting off screen but even looking in all my spaces (I currently only run 2 of them) doesn't show anything. Is there a way to set the screen coordinates for new windows in the preferences? Also, sometimes after completely quiting FF & restarting I will get random ad popups but I have not installed anything that might do this. In these cases I only have ONE page open (just happened and only page open is the Mozilla Support site) so I'm wondering where these are coming from. Is it possible that my New Window function was hijacked by a website to open ads? Would be useful if under the Windows menu bar there was an icon to close each window enumerated there.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

If not, see this: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/troubleshooting+extensions+and+theme...

I completed the items you requested & I'm not sure which one fixed it. Now the problem has gone away. I also moved my only open window & closed FF. I think when I do that in Mac all new browser windows open in a new location.
