Hi - I've tried your solution many times and even thought Firefox says the import from Edge was successful, I don't see any imported bookmarks where you say they should be.

According to Import Bookmarks and other data from Microsoft Edge:

Your imported favorites from Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer will appear as a folder in your Bookmarks Toolbar and Bookmarks menu. Note: The Bookmarks Menu button is not shown by default. To learn how to add it to your Firefox toolbar and for more information on using bookmarks in Firefox, see Bookmarks in Firefox.

Another way to check the Bookmarks Menu is to press Alt+B to activate it on the hidden menu bar. The Bookmarks Toolbar folder isn't pictured there, but the imported bookmarks should appear directly on the bar. (Ref. Bookmarks Toolbar - Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window.)

To check whether the bookmarks were dropped somewhere else, you can search in the Library window (Show All Bookmarks or Ctrl+Shift+O as in "O"rganizer). In the tiny search box at the upper right enter part of the title or URL of a bookmark from Edge and see whether any matches appear. Right-click the match and choose Show in Folder to switch to a folder view. In the left column, Firefox should show where it put that folder.

Any luck, or is importing completely broken for some reason?

Yeah - I know that's what's supposed to happen but I never see them anywhere - even in Library window as you mentioned. Thanks. I solved my problem by exporting HTML from Edge and then importing that file to Firefox.
