Hi!

For the past month or so, some youtube clips keeps on loading and do not play.

When I switch to another video, it either plays or keeps loading again. Refreshing the page doesn't help. Clearing data (cookies, site data, and cache) do not help either. The only solution is to close the window which I'd rather not have to do every time. There doesn't seem to be any rule to the types of clips that plays or doesn't. Any ideas?

I'm using windows 10. Firefox is the latest 103.0.2 (64-bit). Thank you!

Have you tried Firefox in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-4troubleshoot-modesf5safe-modesf

Can you show us what you're seeing when trying to play? It works for me. see screenshot What security software are you running?

Hi, thank you for replying.

I just checked. Ironically, I haven't run into problems today. I'm not using any security apps - only Avast online security add on.

I will keep you posted with link as soon as I run into the problem.

thank you!!

PS I haven't tried safe mode yet. Will give it a try.

dropa, I will try without Avast security, but I've had this add on for a long time, and it never gave me issues with youtube... It may be another add on I have(Enhancer for youtube).

I was hoping others were having similar issues that were browser related, but I guess not. Anyway, thank you for your advice!

doritos, you are definately not alone. A lot of people have been reporting Youtube problems in the past few weeks.

The common themes seem to be: A proportion of videos will not play, you just get a spinning white circle where the video should be. However, these same videos will play fine in other browsers.

I have seen at least a dozen threads on this I think, and I too am having this issue.

In my case, reloading the page sometimes starts the video, but not always. And running in safe mode has not helped (so it's not an add-on issue).

To confuse the matter further, the videos that do not work for one person with this issue may work fine for another. Your FoxNews video, for example, ran fine for me. As have other videos linked to by people who are having this problem.

TechHorse, thank you so much for letting me know!

I've spent more time than I would like trying to figure out if it was a unique issue to my PC. The symptoms are exactly what you describe - the white spinning circle, random clips affected etc.

I hope firefox finds a solution soon...

I can echo what TechHorse mentioned above. The team is still investigating this issue at the moment. I'm hopeful we can hear more update soon.

You can try to adjust the video quality (away from auto) or un-maximize the window and possibly reload to force a re-render to see if that makes the video start.

Cor-el,

Many thanks!

Will try next time I run into it. Closing the browser once always solves the problem, but it's just too cumbersome...
