No bookmark popup on first click

I am running Firefox within two accounts under Windows 11 on a PC desktop machine. In one account, the admin account in which I installed Firefox, I have this problem. In a second account, I do not.

I use the Bookmarks menu to "Bookmark Current Tab". The usual popup allowing me to select placement of the bookmark does not appear. If I try the operation again, I see "Edit this Bookmark", indicating that the bookmark was in fact stored somewhere, and then the popup appears (as I expected it to appear after the first click), allowing me to select where I want to put it.

This problem appears consistently. I have disabled graphics acceleration and restarted: the problem is still there. I have restarted in troubleshooting mode: the problem is still there. But the problem appears only in this one account on this particular machine. A laptop, similarly configured, does not show the problem at all.

Hi. Thanks for your help. I got the same behavior when using the star icon, rather than the Bookmarks menu. I fixed the problem by: 1) uninstalling Firefox 2) removing both Appdata\Local\Mozilla and Appdata\Roaming\Mozilla for this account 3) re-installing Firefox 4) recovering (most of) the account's profiles by performing a sync

Maybe try to click the star in the location bar to bookmark the current tab.

The "Edit This Bookmark" dialog that opens if you click the highlighted star has a checkbox with "Show editor when saving" (shortcut key in the dialog is Alt+S). This item is at the bottom just above "Remove Bookmark" and "Done". You can click the highlighted star a second time to open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog.
