For about a week now, I can't login to Barclays Online using Firefox and Win10. Worked perfectly before. I can access the home page, but when clicking on login, get the rotating loading symbol, which goes on until it stops trying. Have tried clearing cookies etc, and rebooting. Same thing happens on my other Win 10 PC. But can log in as normal with Edge. Which I don't want to use. All updates have been installed on both Firefox and Win 10. No error messages, though.

I also have the same issue when logging in to PayPal and when logging in to Home Depot. No problem if I use Edge or Chrome, but is a pain having to switch to another browser.

Paypal is fine here - as is everything else I've tried.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Sorry for giving thumbs down to the previous reply - as I'd already tried most of it. So too hasty before doing it all.

But going into troubleshooting mode sorted it.

Further investigation showed it do be Ghostery ad blocker causing the problem.
