I just added the "Word Count" add-on. I am supposed to be able to select text on any site, right click and a notification will let me know the word count of the text.

Here is my problem: When I select text and right click, I see "Word Count" it as an option, but I don't get a notification when I click on it.

So far I have:

-disabled and enabled the add-on. -gone to the notification settings. I only see an option to add a website--no option to make an exception for an add-on. -restarted firefox and am using the latest version.

Also: I don't have any other add-ons.

Can you help me? Thanks!

BUT!! Your answer helped me solve it anyway. I went into my mac settings and saw that Firefox notifications were turned off, probably because I'd just downloaded it.

Thanks so much. I sure appreciate you keeping an eye out for questions!

Hi kd, can you make sure this box isn't checked on the Setting page: "Pause notifications until Firefox restarts"

I think on MacOS, Firefox sends notifications to the system rather than generating its own notifications. Is it possible there's a system-level filter on Firefox notifications?

Thanks for the idea. I don't see that. Here's what I see:
