Are you sure it isn't MS asking you to do that?

It only occurs with Firefox not Chrome or Microsoft Edge so I am thinking something to do with Firefox

It defies my search efforts. It's a difficult word to search even if you only search the mozilla website.

.........and that is why I came to here

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Tried the Safe Mode fix - no change It is not the lifeimpressions either.

What I don't get is it is doing it exactly the same on my PC, Tablet and Phone and only on Firefox.

It is getting so annoying that I am almost ready to give up Firefox (I started using when first released) and move to something else.

I'm not sure what you mean by trying the fix, since there's different fixes based on whether the problem shows up in safe mode or not.

Since it shows up on multiple devices, maybe it's an issue connected to the account. I'd try picking a device on which to uninstall and re-install Firefox, without logging in after, and seeing if that helps anything.

Hi, is this on MSN only, or have you seen it on other sites?

If there was a site change, a possible cause of problems would be if Firefox is holding old files in the cache and mashing them up with new ones. Try clearing the web cache:

See: How to clear the Firefox cache (just the web cache, not all cookies and site data)

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

Hello, I think you have enabled receive notification, etc. from an unknown site. I will suggest to:

  • Clear the cookies
  • Clean the caches
  • and then make a try.

The clearing of cache, cookies and site data didn't work.

Early days however, I deleted the app on my Android phone, reinstalled and didn't sign in and it "appears" at this stage to be OK.

Will do Android Tablet tonight and see how it goes before I tackle PC with all its Bookmarks and Passwords.

Its possible sync is spreading the problem. Disconnect sync from everything.

Later, change the sync password to remove all data from the servers.

Well that sort of worked however,

I deleted Firefox on the Android Mobile Phone, reinstalled, didn't sign in and denied Firefox access to photos etc. No issues so far after about 17 hours.

On the Android Tablet I deleted Firefox, reinstalled, didn't sign in but allowed Firefox access to photos etc and the issue occurred within minutes. Did the same again but denied Firefox access to the photos etc and no issues so far for about 12 hours.

Just leaves the PC (the main concern) but it is bigger job with Bookmarks, Passwords, Themes and Extensions etc so can't just uninstall Firefox. Most likely try to do today.
