Some google features work only on private windows

Hello, it's been a few days since I noticed that google's "in-applets" don't work properly. In example, the answers that are built in to the results page ("People also ask") can't be expanded, results for shopping searches at the top of the page can't be scrolled, business info has issues etc.

I deleted all my cache and cookies, disabled all my add ons, restarted in "safe mode" (add ons disabled), yet all the above work only on a private window (or with firefox when started to a different profile).

Any clue what can be the issue?

Thanks

Another user reported the same problem. It seems to be caused by a blocked script, but we didn't track down the source of the blocking: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1312861

The fact that it works in private windows usually is an important clue because you usually would not be logged in to your account in private windows, cache and cookies are not shared, and some extensions running in regular windows may not have permission to run in private windows. I think you have ruled out all of those factors except perhaps whether it makes any difference being logged in to your Google account.

Thanks, I checked this too now, it works in private windows also after logging in (and now thinking about it, it didn't work in regular windows after deleting cookies, which logged me out. Same same).

Probably unrelated, but just in case I'll bring it up: at some point netflix and logging in to mozilla didn't work either, netflix had an error, and while trying to log in to my mozilla account I got an error that cookies and storage must be allowed, although they were. After trying all the above (cache & restarting without add ons, and later on also with add ons) these two got back to work, but google doesn't.

Edit: I checked the console when entering in a private window and a regular window. In the private window everything seems good, but in the regular window there's an exception:

Thanks, I checked it and seems like it's neither the logging in (I tried while logged out after deleting the cookies, and tried while logged in in a private windows).

I also get the same exception as the guy you linked to.

I don't know if it has anything to do, but until I went through all the above (deleting data, restarting etc) netflix and logging in to mozilla didn't work. Netflix had some error code and an error message, and mozilla log in page said I must enable cookies and storage acess, although they were both enabled. after the above steps these two got back to work, but google didn't.

edit: I checked the returned ACT90 script in both cases (from a regular & a private window), the scripts are identical. It fails on this line: s_.remove=function(a){this.ka.removeItem(a)};s_.Uh=function(){return this.ka.length};s_.$p=function(a){var b=0,c=this.ka,d=new s_Pg;d.next=function(){if(b>=c.length)throw s_Og;var e=c.key(b++);if(a)return e;e=c.getItem(e);if("string"!==typeof e)throw"Storage mechanism: Invalid value was encountered";return e};return d};s_.clear=function(){this.ka.clear()};s_.key=function(a){return this.ka.key(a)};
