How do I read email?
I just joined, trying to get away from the offensiveness of google and ms. But I don't see where I get email.

Firefox is a web browser and doesn't handle email. You can use Thunderbird do handle your email or use web page of your email provider.
What web based email service are you using? You just need to go to the website of that email provider and access your email just like you do/did with other browsers.
