Browser crashes after using Browsec (for next day)

Using the paid version of Browsec for Firefox, After so many hours or next day internet will not connect. So you will lose session. This happens almost every time. When Browsec is shut off, it happens 25% of time. So Browsec is adding to the problem. Do I have to shut Browsec off every time I stop using my PC? Or are there some settings that I could adjust to help this? Thank You.

Yes that is what I'm using. What should I do about this? When I use Browsec on other browsers it does not lock up. As for support, I think I should ask Firefox first. This happens on 2 different laptops, Firefox Browser, Win7.

Sometimes when Firefox resumes from sleep or hibernation, some features do not work correctly. As bugs have appeared over the years, they usually are corrected within a few versions. But the big task is to figure out what's going wrong. And I'm not sure I can help figure that out since I'm definitely not an expert on network connections.

When this happens:

(1) Why do you lose your session? Are you using only private windows or have you set Firefox to clear all history at shutdown?

Otherwise, you should be able to recover your open tabs and windows from your previous session after exiting Firefox by using either:

  • menu button > Restore Previous Session
  • (menu bar) History > Restore Previous Session

(2) If you switch among Firefox's proxy settings, does that help it rediscover the VPN? You can try that here:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the search box at the top of the page, type proxy and Firefox should filter to the "Settings" button, which you can click.

The default of "Use system proxy settings" piggybacks on your Windows/IE "LAN" setting. "Auto-detect" can lead to a flaky connection. "No proxy" may or may not find your VPN.

What are your power setting? And VPN works only if your computer is awake if it goes to sleep it cuts the connection. This sounds more like a Windows Power setting issue that is cutting off connections.

This has happened also when the computer is awake, in use and working. It seems as if it locks up, without telling you you have lost your connection. I have a desktop, and 2 laptops Win7, all doing this. When contacting Browsec in November complaining about this I was then using their free version for Firefox. They suggested I buy the premium version. It made absolutely no difference in the disconnections and lockups.

Again I'll review what I mentioned in earlier posts, All 3 PC's will not say they have lost their ISP connection because technically they haven't. When I lose connection without using Browsec (rare) a red cross out line appears over the signal strength bars as it's supposed to. Browsec is somehow locking up with Firefox, allowing firefox to keep running like nothing is wrong. It will run for hours telling you the pages are still downloading. You cannot even start a new session while keeping the old one going. You have to shut down the session that locked up before you can do anything.
