How do I sort search engines (version 57.0.4)?

more options

Recent returnee from Chrome after some time.

I wish to reorder the search engines as they appear in the search box drop-down.

In the past, I'm sure that there was a page which listed the engines and had 'Move Up' and 'Move Down' buttons to alter the order of engines on the page, which was then the order appearing in the drop-down.

Where can I find that facility in v57, please?

You can drag and drop within the One-Click Search Engines list on the Options page.

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the left column, click Search. Then find the box on the right side.

Great - thanks.

Just a suggestion - but it would be a great help if the page had a note saying you had to drag and drop to alter the order of engines!

You can edit the support article here on the site (check the left column for the Editing Tools panel), but getting new text into the product itself can take a lot of time.
