Firefox blank cant access any of the options at all

Ok, now please can any response be for a novice and not with lingo please

When I open firefox the page is blank - it will not allow me to access anything including options, history, anything at all so I cant click on the menu buttons they do not work nothing does.

I have unistalled and reinstalled and the same happens, I have deleted the profile and the same - nothing I am doing works and page remains blank

Any help is appreciate but please it really needs to be a step by step guide as every site I access talks in a tech language I di not understand

Uninstall this way :

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

If the issue is in your Profile : Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

As I said in my original message I need help in straight forward language and step by step -sadly as is always the case in such forums there is an assumption that everyone knows their way around a computer and understands the lingo and where to find things..

I lived in hope that there would be a forum that would be of any help in a way I could understand yet it doesn't matter how simply I put it I still get complicated replies by return.

So thank you for the reply but all the response did was to cause me more frustration..

I will continue to search for what I asked for, a simple understandable and step by step guide - user friendly and lingo free..

I respect your knowledge I just wish these forums would appreciate we are not all computer wizards and the answers become more frustrating then the problem

It is step by step. Not going to get any better. Just take it slow and read and breath. Problem is not going away until you make it go away.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
