thanks, i was primarily looking for the graphics section, but your driver looks fairly recent there. 2 more guesses into the blue: could you try replacing adblock plus with ublock origin, which is lighter on resources which might lead to better performance: https://addons.mozilla.org//firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ and also could you test one configuration change: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named media.windows-media-foundation.allow-d3d11-dxva. double-click it and change its value to false - does this make any difference?

I've only done the second, disabling d3d11-dxva. The problem has not recurred. The GPU is a DirectX 10 part, not 11. Is Firefox misconfiguring itself, or is it being fed wrong info from the OS? Speccy says 10, dxdiag.exe lists 10_0 as the highest supported Feature Level, but does list the Direct3D DDI as 11.1. Thanks.

After installing the Windows 10 Creators Update, it is happening again. Currently on FF 53.0 x64. media.windows-media-foundation.allow-d3d11-dxva is still set to false. Thanks.
